The Lambda Iota Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon was founded in 1968 and has over 950 alumni. We are a strong and growing chapter noted for our strong brotherhood and dedication to the community. We are always seeking men with leadership potential who wish to join us in our constant mission to improve ourselves as well as our chapter. Organization Facts

Tau Kappa Epsilon is a college fraternity founded in 1899 at Illinois Wesleyan University with chapters in the USA, and Canada, and affiliation with a German fraternity system known as the Corps of the Weinheimer Senioren Convent (WSC). With 268 active TKE chapters and colonies throughout the United States and Canada, TKE is the largest college social fraternity in terms of number of active groups. The colors of the fraternity are the shade of cherry known as crimson lake, and the shade of gray known as pure silver. Of the national fraternities founded prior to 1920, TKE is the only one that never had a discrimination clause in its membership requirements to prevent membership of men because of their race, color, or creed.

*Founded on January 10, 1899 at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Illinois.
*250,000 members as of August 6, 2009.
*274 active chapters and colonies located throughout the United States and Canada.
*Governed by its Grand Chapter, which meets in biennial Conclaves to elect a Grand Council and revise or amend The Black Book (the International Constitution and Bylaws). The Grand Chapter is primarily made up of undergraduates.
The Grand Council governs the Fraternity between Conclaves.
*30 full-time employees on the professional Fraternity Staff. *Thousands volunteer as unpaid staff.
*Tau Kappa Epsilon publishes a quarterly magazine titled The Teke.
